Hello Wyatt, how are you? Thank you for your interview. Please tell us about yourself and how you got started in CG?

I’m doing very good, I just did the breaks on the mini van. Got to keep the wife an kids mobile. Thank you for putting this together.

I started learning about 3d modeling back in 1992 or so on AutoCAD r11 in High School in my Drafting class. I went on to learning more about AutoCAD at ITT Tech and more 3d started to trickle into my usual artistic abilities. I went onto doing allot of Sci-fi like stuff.

Which 3d software package(s) do you use and why do you like it?

With my years of AutoCAD skills I needed a better tool to do something more complex. So I started looking at stuff called NURBS. I felt right at home using Rhino3D. While in school I also had my hands in 3Dstudio r2 and then I got myself a copy of R4 and then started working at places that allowed me to use all of my skills. AutoCAD is my blood and what feeds my Family even to this day. Rhino is the creative tools I use for all my freelance work. I can explore so much more complex forms that can be used to build the real thing when the modeling is finished.

What cool new feature would you like to see 5 versions down the road?

Well with Rhino the newest version v4 is still something I need to upgrade to. But I believe more parametric tool sets might help down the line for easy modifications. There are allot of plugins that I can’t wait to get for rendering.
